Brandywood Elementary School

Brandywood Elementary School offers a variety of educational programs to students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school provides academic programs in English, mathematics, social studies and science. Brandywood Elementary School also offers various motivational and enrichment programs. The school s library provides a range of books, newspapers and encyclopedias. Brandywood Elementary School has an athletics department that offers various activities, such as basketball, volleyball and football. The school also provides classes in health and physical education. Brandywood Elementary School has a guidance counseling department for students, parents and teachers. The school is a part of the Brandywine School District and is located in Wilmington, Del.

We believe that the youngest years for a child are the most important and that all children deserve a supportive, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We have been teaching and caring for children for nearly thirty years. We offer programs for children ages fifteen months through third grade. Classes include two-day, three-day, half-day and five day a week choices. Our education levels include: Toddler, Pre-Primary, and Primary. Our talented staff of 18 includes teachers and administrators specially trained in the Montessori philosophy and methodology. In addition to college work, teachers attend special training programs that provide them with advanced training in the use of Montessori materials, child development and classroom management. All teachers must be certified in the Montessori philosophy and serve as an apprenticeship for one year under an experienced teacher.
