Sandra Palavecino, MD obtained her medical degree at the Central University of Venezuela and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut in 2012. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and has practiced in Sussex County for several years. She has additional expertise in bariatric medicine and diet counseling. Dr. Palavecino is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. Dr. Palavecino has been part of TidalHealth Medical Weight Loss and Bariatric Nutrition since 2015 and the Director of the medical weight loss program since Spring 2016.

Alyson Heenan, registered dietitian, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2017, graduating Suma Cum Laude. She received her certificate in training for Obesity Interventions for Adults in 2019 and became a Certified Diabetes Educator in 2021. Alyson has been practicing in the field of obesity and weight management in the local area since 2018, and is licensed in both Del. and Md. She specializes in nutrition for both bariatric surgery and non-surgical weight loss and believes in using fun, motivational educational techniques to provide an individualized nutritional counseling approach.

Jarrod Buzalewski, DO, earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his general surgery residency in the Geisinger Health System in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa., followed by a minimally invasive/bariatric surgery fellowship at AdventHealth Tampa in Florida. Dr. Buzalewski is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
