We ended our "$30, 000 in 30 Days" campaign on September 30 with a celebration of hope with friends old and new, including our founder, Tom Nees. Rain nor wind could keep the 100+ guests from joining WUSA Channel 9 Anchor Lesli Foster, Platinum Sponsor Freddie Mac, and Gold Sponsors MeadWestvaco and National Air Traffic Controllers Association. Chefs Jeff Tunks of Passion Foods ( parent of Ceiba Restaurant ) and Logan Cox of New Heights greeted guests who sampled their food, along with delicious bites from Finemondo Italian Country Kitchen and cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake. Click here [ PDF ] to read the article. Community of Hope will build a new Health and Resource Center in Ward 8, thanks to funding from the DC Primary Care Association and the Department of Health. Ward 8 has been identified as an area in great need of an additional community health center. Today marks an important first step with the purchase of the property. Read the full Press Release here.
