Opened in 1977, The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens serves as a center for Japanese art and culture in South Florida. It organizes a variety of rotating exhibitions in its galleries and an educational outreach program with local schools and organizations. The museum and garden operates Seishin-an, which is a tea house and hosts various monthly ceremonies. The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens also celebrates a range of Japanese traditional festivals for the public several times a year. It offers several group tours for adults and students, summer tours for children and public tours. Located in Delray Beach, Fla., the museum houses more than 5,000 Japanese art objects and artifacts, including a 500-piece collection of tea ceremony items, over 200 textile pieces and fine arts acquisitions.
