Established in 1954, Lakeview Center is a community health center that provides counseling for stresses of modern living, treatment for co-occurring mental health, substance use disorders, and psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. Located in Pensacola, Fla., its services include community support, crisis services, child protective services, vocational programs, employee assistance program, and individual, group and family counseling. Additionally, Lakeview Center offers drug and alcohol treatment programs that provide detoxification, specialized day treatment for mothers with substance abuse problems, and education for individuals arrested for drinking and driving. It also offers child welfare services that include foster home recruitment, adoption support, independent living program; and case management for out of home and in home placements. Lakeview Center offers several outreach programs including HIV and AIDS education, counseling support in the schools, rape awareness and prevention program, and crisis telephone lines for adults, teens and children. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
