MEI Holdings is the parent company for Martin Electronics, located in Perry, Fla. Martin manufactures pyrotechnic and ordnance devices for the United States Department of Defense. MEI's history includes a leading role in the manufacture of pyrotechnic fragmentation and smoke hand grenade fuzes, signaling and distraction devices, training and simulation devices and infrared aircraft deployed decoy flares. Martin Electronics was incorporated in 1954 in Delaware. KDI Corporation acquired MEI in 1969 and the present Perry facility was constructed. MEI Holdings acquired Martin from KDI in January, 1990.
