The Children s Home Society of Florida, also known as CHS, is a private, nonprofit organization that provides a range of services to children and families. It offers protection and guidance services for abused and abandoned children in Florida. The organization operates more than 10 divisions and maintains a staff of over 2,000 employees. The Children s Home Society of Florida provides adoption, search and reunion, foster and residential care, and individual and family counseling services. It also offers mentoring, life skills teaching and pregnancy counseling programs. The organization operates Transitions Group Home, which provides a nurturing environment for teenage mothers between the ages of 13 and 19 and their children. Established in 1902, the Children s Home Society of Florida is accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
