Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden is an 80-acre paradise of exotic and native Florida plants located in Coral Gables, Florida, just south of Miami. The lush jungle-like setting includes a recreation of several unique ecosystems and sits alongside the Atlantic coast. It is a haven for endangered Florida and Caribbean plant species as well as flora from around the world. Fairchild Gardens' conservation efforts have made it a premier educational facility complete with diverse horticulture exhibits, laboratories, a museum and several educational children's events and programs.

Best way to get to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens
A car is recommended and parking is ample. It is not easily accessed by public transportation.

Best time to visit Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Visit during one of the many festivals they host such as the International Orchid Festival, Mango Festival and Chocolate Festival along with world class art exhibitions year round. Mild and warm winters make it a great time to go.

Admission to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Admission is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, and on Thursday and Sunday they are open late nights until 9 p.m. There is a fee for admission to the gardens in order to sustain their conservation efforts. Approximately $10 to $30 and children under five are free.

Must see sights and activities at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Must sees include unique spiny desert trees from Madagascar, a two acre rainforest, sunken garden complete with a waterfall, butterfly garden, orchid house and Florida Keys coastal habitat. According to the website, Fairchild Tropical Gardens has the largest living collection of palm trees and cycads in the world. Award winning horticultural displays are enhanced by art installations from the famed glass artist Dale Chihuly.

Parents can pick up a themed activity backpack for their kids to create a fun interactive experience while touring the garden. Several hands-on educational programs are available year round for the kids.

Matheson Park and Marina is adjacent to Fairchild which is complete with pristine beaches and coastal Florida scenery. An onsite pier and marina are perfect for chartering a boat and fishing.
