Established in 1853, the University of Florida serves more than 50,000 students through over 15 colleges. The university also operates over 150 research centers and institutes. It offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate and masters degree programs. The university provides instruction in aerospace engineering, anthropology, botany, biology, business administration, computer science and criminology. The University of Florida also offers courses in interior design, marketing, linguistics, and film and media studies. The university supports a range of sports activities that includes baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, swimming, diving, tennis, and track and field. In addition, it organizes several opera, orchestra and ballet performances. The university provides support services, such as guidance counseling, health care and financial aid.
