Yummies has been serving this community since 1989. We are blessed to serve generations from grandparents, parents, kids and now their great grandchildren. Venice is such a tourist driven community that we have loyal customers from around the world. Our donuts starts from flour. We make our dough in a mixer that stands 6 feet tall. When lifting the mixing bowl and the dough, it is approximately 78 pounds. The dough gets hand rolled and cut. Each raw donut gets put on a screen and heads for the proof box. They proof until they have a little rise. They are then set into the fryer were they are turned until both sides are golden brown. From there they are drenched in glaze. Some are sent to be stuffed with custards, creams or jellies. Some are slathered with vanilla, chocolate or maple icing. Some are doused with sprinkles, cookies, candy and nuts. Our products are labor intensive and yet made with love. We do not add preservatives or additives to lengthen the shelf life.
