Established in 1905, the Carrollton Fire Department is a public safety agency that works to protect the life and property of citizens and visitors. It offers fire protection and prevention, hazardous materials response and emergency medical services. The department s professional staff is comprised of certified firefighters, medical first responders and paramedics. The Carrollton Fire Department operates through three fire stations, engines and an aerial platform truck. It responds to more than 3,600 calls every year that include fires, chemical spills, gas ruptures, medical emergencies, auto and machinery accidents, and fire and carbon monoxide alarms. The department also distributes smoke detectors to citizens. In addition, the Carrollton Fire Department conducts home and chimney inspections, as well as assists with the proper installations of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
