Its personnel assigned to the patrol division have the responsibility of handling day-to-day calls for the residents and these calls include security patrol, traffic control, investigation and first aid at accident scenes, detention and arrest of persons involved in crime or misconduct. Its viper unit has four officers and K-9 personnel who address drug abuse, repeated burglaries, traffic, special events and any special needs that may arise in the community. Its program, D.A.R.E., is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teach children from grades kindergarten through 12 on how to resist peer pressure and live productive, drug- and violence-free lives. Its support services division has the responsibilities of maintaining incident, accident and traffic reports and develops training for personnel, policy making, coordination of services to the public, maintaining records of new recruits, and receiving and directing all incoming calls.
