About GUFC The Georgia Urban Forest Council is a non-profit organization that sustains Georgia's green legacy by helping communities grow healthy trees. The Council was founded in 1988 by a group of visionary individuals who recognized the need for an organization to address urban forestry issues in Georgia. Today, the Council is an active group offering educational programs and resources and supported by a growing and diverse membership. The Georgia Urban Forest Council is committed to having an open line of communication between program participants and staff. All program participants are encouraged to bring issues or problems to the attention of the Executive Director or Board President as soon as possible. GUFC contact information is included on all printed materials and on the GUFC website, and the Board President's phone number, as well as the phone numbers of all GUFC Board members, is listed on the GUFC website. This grievance procedure statement is to be posted at all times on the GUFC website and periodically posted in the newsletter.
