The Department of Human Resources maintains an office of business support that performs administrative, financial, procurement and data management functions. Its office of organization and employee development is responsible for performance management, executive and career development, organizational research, foreign language instruction and basic skills enhancement. The department also offers psychological services to assist employees and their families in solving issues, such as domestic conflict, substance abuse, stress and traumas. The Department of Human Resources additionally operates various employee fitness and health centers. It also sponsors blood drives in conjunction with the American Red Cross. The department partners with contracted insurance vendors to manage chronic diseases, such as diabetes, digestive disorders, and heart and coronary artery diseases. It is located in Atlanta.
