Founded in 1969, the Piedmont Academy is a nonprofit, independent and college preparatory institution that enrolls students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. It provides educational services to more than 350 students. The academy provides classes in English, math, social studies, science, art, journalism, psychology, Spanish, Latin and physical education. It is spread on an area of more than 20 acres and includes a media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, music room, and football, baseball, soccer and softball stadiums. The Piedmont Academy is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and is a member of the Georgia Independent School Association. It operates a parent-teacher organization and fine arts society. The academy also provides extracurricular activities and conducts educational trips. It offers guidance counseling services. Additionally, the academy provides sports, such as football, tennis, golf, soccer, wrestling, and track and field. The Piedmont Academy is located in Monticello, Ga.
