Thomson High School serves more than 1,200 students in grades nine through 12. It is a part of McDuffie County Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. Thomson High School is approved by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Its academic curriculum includes various college and career preparatory diploma courses in math, science, social studies, computer applications, industrial technology, health occupations, and family and consumer sciences. The school provides a range of sports activities, including football, softball, basketball, baseball, golf, soccer and tennis. In addition, the school operates various student organizations, such as a band, student council, and literary and poetic clubs. Thomson High School s facility includes a library and media center that has more than 19,000 volumes of books and reference materials. It is located in Thomson, Ga.
