The Idaho Department of Lands, also known as IDL, is operated by the government of Idaho. Established in1895, it manages endowment assets, including land and funds. The department also offers support services and fiscal, information technology and surface leasing programs. The Idaho Department of Lands provides fire and forest management and forestry assistance services. It maintains locations in Coolin, Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint, Kingston and St. Maries in Idaho. The department additionally operates a state land board. The Idaho Department of Lands manages commercial timber land and minerals. It also maintains public records and serves citizens, public schools and other trust beneficiaries in Idaho.
