Intermountain Gas Company is a natural gas distribution company serving approximately 305,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in 74 communities in southern Idaho. It is a subsidiary of MDU Resources Group Inc., a multidimensional natural resources enterprise. It serves industrial customers, including potato processors, chemical producers, fertilizer plants, and electronic factories. The company was incorporated in 1950 as natural gas industry. In 1955, the Intermountain Gas Company received certification from the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.
