Students Publishing Company is a nonprofit public corporation chartered by the state of Illinois. The company was officially incorporated in 1923 to publish and manage the student publications of Northwestern University. Although SPC is independent of Northwestern University, it maintains a close association with the university by providing a variety of publishing services, foremost being the production of The Daily Northwestern and the Syllabus yearbook. Resumes, brochures, newsletters and calendars are just a few of the many typeset jobs for the university's various departments and organizations. In addition to offering typesetting services, SPC provides Evanston, Ill., with its only daily newspaper using free newsboxes located throughout the city.
