Founded in 1949 by a Northwestern University graduate, Charcoal Oven retains the 1950s decor and ambiance of the old days, along with formidable steaks, chops and seafood. An old-fashioned bar remains as well, offering unique cocktails that promise a trip to the bar before you're seated. Meals range from Greek chicken and calve's liver to meaty steaks and shish kebab.
