Clyde's Donuts

On Oct. 18, 1920, a German entrepreneur named Herman Seekamp purchased a small bakery in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago called Clyde's Delicious Donuts. This was the beginning of a tradition for quality that has lasted more than 80 years. Since then, Clyde's has maintained fresh delivery routes that serve Chicago's restaurant and food service industry, which includes schools, vendors and hospitals, with fresh donuts, muffins and Danishes. In 1990, Clyde's moved to its current home, a more than 53,000 square foot building in Addison, Ill. Its plant manufactures more than 1 million donuts per week. Clyde's Delicious Donuts offers a variety of products made with 100 percent vegetable oil that include thaw and sell, thaw and ice, thaw and serve, fritters, Paczki's and a variety of seasonal items, such as sprinkled cake donuts, apple cider, pumpkin, gingerbread and eggnog donuts.
