History
In 1869 Humboldt Park was named for Alexander von Humboldt, a Prussian geographer and naturalist. Since then, it's been home to thriving Danish, Norwegian, Polish, Jewish, and Italian communities. The 1950's saw a massive migration of Puerto Ricans to the area from western neighborhoods. Many shades of bunting have colored the park's footpaths, for sure. Fun, politics, and tumult have characterized these 207 acres over the years. Now we do, together. Let's make some history- over a pint, of course. Welcome to h u m b l e b a r.
