Established in 1928, Jefferson Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Its educational programs include instruction in English, math, science, social studies, art, music, physical education and language arts. The school provides various after-school programs for the physical and social development of students. It features a computer laboratory, cafeteria, gymnasium, playground and classrooms. Jefferson Elementary School also organizes a variety of extracurricular activities, such as Thanksgiving feasts, chorus programs, musical shows, Christmas celebrations, carnivals, geography bee competitions and book fairs. Additionally, it has a parent-teacher organization that provides financial support to the school through fundraising events, such as Laugh Olympics and Market Day. Located in Morton, Ill., the school is a part of Morton School District 709.
