The Allen County Sheriff's Department works to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Allen County. The department professionally works in partnerships to provide safety, security and service to the community. The Allen County Sheriff's Department provides information services, such as sex offender registry, active warrants, memorials and unsolved homicides. The department oversees the county jail, which comprises four sections that were built from 1980 to 2004 and has more than 745 total beds. The Allen County Sheriff's Department also created the Community Law Enforcement Academy to provide information on law enforcement and its effect on the public. The Allen County Sheriff's Department maintains its headquarters in Fort Wayne, Ind.
