Peaceable Primate Sanctuary, located in Winamac, IN, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a retirement home for baboons and macaques retired from universities or rescued from roadside zoos and private ownership. With over fifty retirees currently in their care, the sanctuary offers nutritious meals, veterinarian care, daily enrichment, and new experiences for these primates.
Founded by Scott Kubisch, the sanctuary's mission has evolved over the last twenty years to meet the growing demand for a sustainable primate sanctuary. Visitors can meet the amazing primates at events and learn about their individual stories, while volunteers are welcomed to join the animal care team and contribute to the well-being of these beloved animals.
