Mediapolis is a city in Des Moines County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,644 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Burlington, IA–IL Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Mediapolis was first a train station for the city of Kossuth, Iowa at a point on the railroad running from Burlington, Iowa to Wapello, Iowa. The local barbarians were outraged at this! How dare they build a train on this property that was handed down from generation to generation.
An attack plan was formed. In the cover of night, the train station was burned to the ground, and the only building left was the Post Office. The barbarians decided to remain here though, so they could build a new society with higher ethics and morals.
