Founded in 1964, The Iowa Soybean Association develops a range of policies and programs that assists farmers in expanding profit opportunities and promotes soybean production. It offers production research services. The association specializes in increasing the production of soy biodiesel that serves mechanics and equipment and truck dealerships. It also initiates governmental affairs activities that assist in the promotion of state soybean policy positions The Iowa Soybean Association conducts member services programs and contracts with outside organizations in the areas of consumer and industry information, producer communication and research. It is governed by an elected board of more than 20 volunteer farmers and serves over 6,000 members throughout the state. The Iowa Soybean Association maintains a location in Urbandale, Iowa.
