Spencer High School is a public coeducational school that serves more than 700 students in grades nine through 12 and offers a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities. Its academic curriculum includes art, business, English, family and consumer science, foreign languages, industrial technology, mathematics, music, physical education, science, social studies and vocational agriculture. It offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities and student organization, including German, Spanish, drama, speech, music and debate clubs, yearbook, student council, school newspaper and the Future Farmers of America. The high school provides various athletic activities, such as baseball, softball, basketball, golf, cheerleading, cross country, swimming, track, football, tennis, volleyball, soccer and wrestling. Its library has a large online database and a collection of various books, magazines and reference materials. The high school is located in Spencer, Iowa, and is operated by the Spencer Community School District.
