The Kansas Property Valuation Division exercises general supervision over ad valorem policies and procedures. The division conducts the valuation of state appraised properties and provides property tax information. Its personal property section's responsibilities include holding workshops for counties and assisting counties and taxpayers with personal property issues. The Kansas Property Valuation Division also conducts property assessments by county appraisers. Its cartography section creates and maintains geographic information systems, as well as provides educational workshops. In addition, the division maintains guidelines for the valuation and taxation of personal properties.
