Stardust Cruisers is one of the oldest and most recognized names in the houseboat industry, originally building steel and fiberglass hull houseboats in Chattanooga, Tenn., as far back as the early 1960s. In the early 1980s, Wayne Smiley moved the manufacturing facility to Monticello, Ky. Prior to the move, Smiley purchased the Chattanooga-based Stardust Cruisers' equipment, fiberglass molds and name. Since 1985, Stardust Cruisers has produced over 1,300 luxury houseboats. Standard options on each houseboat include double-welded aluminum ribs and braces, 32-inch deep hull and a straight bow. Some of the additional options include custom bow design, deeper hulls, installation of carpet in bilge area and a painted bow.
