Hoxie is a city in and the county seat of Sheridan County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 1,201.
Hoxie is located at 39°21′16″N 100°26′24″W / 39.35444°N 100.44°W / 39.35444; -100.44 (39.354329, -100.439952). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.2 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,244 people, 543 households, and 350 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,472.2 people per square mile (571.8/km²). There were 601 housing units at an average density of 711.3 per square mile (276.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.79% White, 0.16% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.48% from other races, and 0.32% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.37% of the population.
