North Newton is a city in Harvey County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 1,759. The city of Newton is located next to the city, but it not part of North Newton. North Newton is home of Bethel College, which has approximately 500 students.
North Newton is located at 38°4′26″N 97°20′47″W / 38.07389°N 97.34639°W / 38.07389; -97.34639 (38.073865, -97.346355) and immediately north of Newton. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,522 people, 604 households, and 335 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,775.4 people per square mile (683.3/km²). There were 632 housing units at an average density of 737.2 per square mile (283.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.96% White, 2.04% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.33% Pacific Islander, 1.97% from other races, and 1.18% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.83% of the population.
