Founded in 1998, the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center provides short-term care for juveniles who are accused, adjudicated pending court action and awaiting transfer to another facility. The center offers shelter, food, clothing and medical care. It provides physical, religious, educational and social needs during detainment. The Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center also reviews sanitation and fire marshal reports to provide adequate housing for youths. The center monitors educational programs that include classroom sessions and educational records. In addition, it provides occupational and vocational counseling services.
