Pleasant River Lumber Company, located in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, is a subsidiary of the Quebec-based G rard Cr te & Fils. While Crete & Fils maintains all of its other locations within the borders of the province of Quebec, Pleasant River Lumber Company remains a strategic gateway into the United States economy. Pleasant River Lumber Company was acquired by Crete & Fils in 1989 and received an addition of a planing mill to its existing facility in 1994. Crete & Fils also operates St-S verin-de-Proulxville Mill, St-Roch-de-M kinac Mill and La Tuque Mill in Mauricie, Quebec. The company obtains 92 percent of its softwood supplies used from Quebecois public lands. The company s lumber is comprised of spruce, pine and fir. Its product range reflects the types and lengths of lumber its customers require. Crete & Fils produces a standard lumber product line that is available at home improvement stores.
