For more than 40 years, the Chesapeake Nurseries name has been synonymous with top-quality broadleaf evergreens. It encompasses more than 1,500 acres on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Approximately two-thirds of this acreage is used for the production of quality ornamental shrubs. Chesapeake grows more than 200 varieties of azaleas, hollies, rhododendrons, barberry, cotoneaster, euonymus, Andromeda and ornamental grasses in various sizes suitable for garden centers, landscape contractors and redistribution centers. The sales office, propagation department and container growing area are located at the Pemberton farm, three miles west of Salisbury, Md., on Pemberton Drive. Field raised-bed growing areas, production offices, loading and shipping facilities and repair and fabrication are located at the Green Hill farm, 11 miles west of Salisbury on Maryland Route 352.
