Founded in 1925, Chesapeake Biological Laboratory is a marine research facility, and is a part of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. The center provides a wide variety of research and information studies. It offers a program in ecosystem studies and restoration science that includes molecular, organism, community and systems ecology. The center provides a research program in fisheries science, including population dynamics, ecosystem modeling and restoration ecology. It additionally offers studies in ecotoxicology and species invasions. The center also provides various graduate programs that include conduct research, mechanisms of toxicity, chemical risk assessment and monitoring of hazardous chemicals. It additionally offers various undergraduate programs, including tours, seminars and workshops. Chesapeake Biological Laboratory is located in Solomons, Md.
