Opened in 1955, Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School serves more than 300 students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school has a library that provides accessible reading materials for a range of interests at various levels. The library promotes reading and library skills through specially designed activities and programs. The school s curriculum includes reading, physical education, music, language arts, English, math, science, social studies and basic skills. Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School also organizes a variety of extracurricular activities. Located in Nanjemoy, Md., the elementary school has a parent-teacher organization that sponsors various events and activities. It is a part of Charles County Public Schools.
