Founded in 1969, Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps is private, nonprofit, licensed child welfare agency that serves more than 900 children annually. It serves youths and their families for various behavioral and emotional issues. The organization provides residential treatment, therapeutic support, and educational and community-based services. Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps operates the Cape Cod Adolescent Treatment Center, which provides services to adolescents to overcome substance abuse, neglect, violence, truancy, aggressive behavior and other challenges. The center additionally provides counseling and clinical services by community-based therapists and local mental health centers. The organization is located in South Yarmouth, Mass., and is affiliated with the Massachusetts Council of Human Service Providers and the Child Welfare League of America.
