Established in 1889, Boys and Girls Club of Worcester is affiliated with the national program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. It offers five-core program areas, including arts, sports and fitness, social skills, character development and leadership development and education and career development. The club, based in Worcester, Mass., provides prevention programs for youth, including gang, alcohol, drug, tobacco, teen sex and unplanned pregnancies. It provides a range of after school programs for children and disadvantaged youth ages 6 through 18. The programs include educational games, computer education, power hour homework help, arts and crafts, keystone club, career explorers and job ready. The club also offers instructional programs, seasonal sports leagues, traveling sports teams, swimming lessons, boxing, weight training, social recreation programs, and a variety of special events and field trips.
