Established in 2001, Berkshire Hills Music Academy, also known as BHMA, is a private, postsecondary school that serves adults with developmental disabilities. The academy is spread across an area of more than 35 acres. It includes a computer lab, recording studio, dining room, fitness center and student lounge. The academy offers courses in applied math, adult sexuality, health management, public speaking, media literacy and social skills. Berkshire Hills Music Academy also provides instrument lessons and conducts talent shows and dance performances. The academy provides sessions that focus on money management, menu planning, meal preparation, housekeeping, emergency procedures and safety precautions. Berkshire Hills Music Academy offers physical and recreational activities. It performs in parades, festivals, conferences and galas.
