Founded in 1977, EVE, also known as End Violent Encounters, is a nonprofit organization that provides residential and nonresidential supportive services to individuals suffering from domestic violence throughout Ingham County, Mich. It offers shelter and child care services to more than 1,000 children. The organization provides advocacy services to individuals and families in the areas of finance, safety planning, employment, legal issues, housing, relocation, crime victim compensation and preventing eviction. It additionally offers counseling and education programs to children between the ages of 3 and 12. The organization also provides employment training, skills development, crisis intervention, technical assistance and consulting services, as well as organizes field trips and special events. EVE is located in Lansing, Mich.
