Grand Blanc Map
Grand Blanc is a city in Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan and a suburb of Flint. The population was 8,242 at the 2000 census. The city is situated within Grand Blanc Charter Township, but is politically independent. With the township and city population it is the second largest city in Genesee county. A May 2006 vote ended governmental research into a plan to consolidate the city and township governments.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.8 square miles (9.7 km²), almost all of which is land. 0.27% of the area is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 8,242 people, 3,542 households, and 2,153 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,197.3 per square mile (848.6/km²). There were 3,725 housing units at an average density of 993.1 per square mile (383.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 89.17% White, 5.01% African American, 0.27% Native American, 3.22% Asian, 0.58% from other races, and 1.76% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.67% of the population.
