Kelly/Shorts Stadium is a stadium located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan on the campus of Central Michigan University. Kelly/Shorts Stadium currently houses the NCAA team the Central Michigan Chippewas. The stadium opened as Perry Shorts on November 4, 1972 with the construction taking just over one year at a cost of just over $2.2 million, $12.1 million in present day dollars. The latest renovation was in 1998, which added over 2,000 seats.
The Central Michigan Chippewas are members of the Mid-American Conference of the within National Collegiate Athletic Association. They are known by their team colors consisting of maroon and gold. Their mascot is the Chippewas. Past players include Nick Bellore, Eric Fisher and Joe Staley.
The stadium currently holds 32,885 fans. Currently, it is the 107th largest stadium in the NCAA. The record fan attendance of 35,127 occurred on September 8, 2012 against Michigan State. In terms of parking there is on-campus parking and satellite parking lots both containing general and reserved spots.
Season tickets are available with prices starting around $90. Individual tickets start at about $22 depending on the game. Tickets are available through the team website and ticket exchanges.
