Lawrence Map
Lawrence is a village in Van Buren County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,059 at the 2000 census. The village is located within Lawrence Township. Home of noted journalist Paul Garrod and the annual Ox Roast and Homecoming festival. Area recognized Farmer's Market runs June–October annually in the Village Park. Location of the Van Buren Intermediate School District campus and Conference Center. Certified Business Park.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,059 people, 392 households, and 268 families residing in the village. The population density was 600.4 per square mile (232.3/km²). There were 434 housing units at an average density of 246.1 per square mile (95.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 79.32% White, 3.78% African American, 1.51% Native American, 0.85% Asian, 9.54% from other races, and 5.00% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 18.32% of the population.
