Michigan Stadium is a stadium located in Ann Arbor, Michigan on the campus of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Michigan Stadium currently houses the NCAA team the Michigan Wolverines. The stadium opened under its current name on October 1, 1927 with the construction taking just over one year at a cost of just over $950,000, $12.6 million in present day dollars. The latest renovation was in 2010, which added over 3,000 seats.
The Michigan Wolverines are members of the Big 10 Conference of the within National Collegiate Athletic Association. They are known by their team colors consisting of blue and yellow. Their mascot is the Wolverine. Past players include Gerald Ford, Benny Friedman and Jim Harbaugh.
The stadium currently holds 109,901 fans. Currently, it is the largest stadium in the NCAA. The record fan attendance of 114,804 occurred on September 11, 2011 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In terms of parking there is on-campus parking and satellite parking lots both containing general and reserved spots.
Season tickets of limited availability are available to donors who give $500 or more. Individual tickets start at about $70 depending on the game. Tickets are available through the team website and ticket exchanges.
