Irving L. Seelye, the company president, founded Frontier Construction Company in 1995. It was incorporated in 1997 in the state of Minnesota. The company is 100% wholly owned by Mr. Seelye, an enrolled member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Indians. The corporate office is located in Deer River, Minnesota with a branch office in South St. Paul, Minnesota. Irv Seelye is a native of Deer River, MN and has been in the construction industry since he obtained his degree in Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance in 1975. His more than 25 Years in the industry include equipment operation, maintenance, and supervision of large earthmoving projects, landfill closures, highways, pipelines, and oil field development in such diverse places as Alaska, Wyoming, North Dakota, and Minnesota. His training includes construction quality management for contractors, Competent Person, and HAZMAT. He continues to manage the growth and day-to-day business operations of the company and is responsible for business administration, coordination and marketing. Jeff Tilden has 20 years of construction experience. His field experience includes serving as a grading foreman ; building demolition ; blasting ; landfill construction, closure, and gas extraction ; flood control and bank stabilization ; soil stabilization and tieback projects. He also has office experience as a project analyst, estimator and project manager. He has received training in supervision, construction quality management for contractors, OSHA 500, HAZMAT, Competent Person, Red Cross First Aid & CPR, as well as numerous computer courses. He provides management direction to the Metro branch office, estimates and manages projects for the company, as well as maintains the company computer hardware and software. Peter Bernier earned his B.S. degree in Engineering in 1977. He has served as both an engineer and construction manager on community development, housing, and utility projects, including eleven years supervising housing and community development programs on the Leech Lake Reservation. He has estimated, bid and managed commercial, governmental and residential projects. His responsibilities include office administration, coordination, marketing, project management and management direction to the general construction activities of the company. Since 1975 Gordy Giffen has worked in the field of construction and has been a foreman and superintendent since 1980. In his more than 25 years of experience he has undertaken commercial, industrial and residential projects. He worked for many years Lakehead Constructors, Inc throughout the country on such varied projects as transmission pipelines, mine facilities construction and other commercial facilities. He has extensive experience in layout, and concrete footing and wall construction.
