Apple Valley High School offers more than 300 required and elective trimester courses in English, chemistry, physics, biology, accounting, history, and government and politics. It also includes courses in dance performance, art and industrial technology, Spanish, French, German and Japanese. The Apple Valley High School Media Center is an extension of the classroom and serves students research and information requirements. The school has more than 26 athletic activities and over 30 fine and performing arts activities. In addition, it offers various student clubs such as math league, academic quiz bowl and science Olympiad. The school is a winner of the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence from the Department of Education and Award for Excellence in Content Rich Arts from the National Endowment of the Arts. Located in Apple Valley, Minn., the school is a part of the Independent School District 196.
