The National Youth Leadership Council, also known as NYLC, has been leading a movement that links youths, educators and communities for more than 25 years. It helps implement and improve service learning programs throughout the world. The council focuses on critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as tackles challenges, such as hunger and homelessness. The National Youth Leadership Council operates a bookstore that provides a variety of publications for teachers, service-learning practitioners, researchers and policy makers with information to implement successful programs, enrich education and support young people. It administers a leadership training program that combines physically rigorous activities, such as canoeing and running with intellectually stimulating seminars, cultural exchanges and small group interactions to help young people lead and serve.
