Winsted is a city in McLeod County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,355 at the 2010 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.5 km²), all of it land. County Highways 1 and 6 are two of the main routes in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,094 people, 822 households, and 535 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,549.9 people per square mile (598.9/km²). There were 847 housing units at an average density of 626.9 per square mile (242.2/km²).
