Metro Crisis Coordination Program

The Community Action Council, also known as (CAC), is a nonprofit organization that helps families in crisis to achieve self-sufficiency. The organization has been serving families for more than 35 years. It operates a range of outreach and support programs. The organization also administers a variety of food, housing and gift programs. The Community Action Council partners with local schools, law enforcement agencies and churches. It helps over help 6,000 families annually and employs a staff of up to 100 professionals. The organization has nearly 50 locations in Dakota and Scott counties in Minnesota. It accepts donations from individuals and business clients. In addition, the organization assists families on issues related to domestic violence and sexual assault. The Community Action Council s community partner includes the Greater Twin Cities United Way.

Located in Minneapolis, Domestic Abuse Project, also known as DAP, is one of the first domestic violence agencies in the United States that provides safe shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, prevention and educational services for individuals. Established in 1979, the organization supports substance abuse prevention and violence prevention programs. The organization offers housing services on a 24-hour basis for the victims of domestic violence and their children. Domestic Abuse Project also provides legal advocacy support and community education services. The organization serves more than 8,000 children, adolescents and adults every year. It conducts several workshops and community education sessions, as well as offers various individual and family therapies.
